What We Do

Since our establishment in 2005 we have fundraised more than £70,000 for our partner projects in Tanzania, and enabled more than 60 student volunteers to visit Tanzania to support the delivery of educational services and the creation of new and better teaching resources.

 

Below is a summary of the work we have completed in the Meseranilast three years:

 

-  Fundraising of £23,000 to finance the construction of Meserani Education Centre main classrooms and library

 

-  Provision of 20 volunteers to help physically construct the centre in just nine weeks

 

-  Fundraising and provision of volunteers for the construction of two additioKindergartennal teaching classrooms at Meserani, including a new early years education facility

 

-  Purchase of teaching resources, including whiteboards, cupboards and games

 

Computers-  Collection of 20 computers for the Computer Classroom

 

-  Donation of foreign language textbooks and Swahili reading books

-  Creation of sustainable teaching resources

 

-  Donation of £25,000 to Meserani Education Centre to enable the provision of free education to the local children and adults

 

Murial -  Research into self-sustainability options for Meserani Education Centre, and successful implementation of income generating schemes

 

-  Sharing of ideas and skills with local staff in computers, maths, English and children’s education

 

-  Completion of workshops in foreign languages, science and first aidFirst Aid Workshops

-  Completion of research into the educational needs of the Maasai

-  Completion of the first awareness raising event, ‘Africa Week’

-  Organisation of a teacher training course for Tanzanian staff in partnership with a UK teacher training college
