Welcome to Working in Tandem (WiT)

Working in Tandem is a student led organisation that supports educational projects in Tanzania, Africa. WiT was founded in 2005 by students from The University of Nottingham. To this day it is still completely run by Nottingham University students, along with help and guidance from the WiT trustees (made up of mostly ex-students).

WiT currently supports a variety of educational organisations based in Northern Tanzania. Since 2005, WiT has been supporting an education centre built by students of Nottingham University. The centre provides free education for the local Maasai community. With WiT's support the centre now has it's own kindergarten.

WiT has continued to grow. It now offers support to a community primary school in neighbouring village, a local orphanage and a vocational training centre. When WiT first visited the small community school in 2007 the school building consisted of a wooden frame covered in plastic sheeting. In 2009 with the help of Working in Tandem, it became a brick built building with windows and doors. It has since been plastered, painted and with thanks to partners Buchanan Associates, is now a fantastic learning space. Please see the Photo Gallery of how the primary school has developed.

WiT is a unique organisation and exists through all the hard work of volunteers who give up their time for a good cause. WiT is thankful to all  supporters for their time, donations and unwavering enthusiasm!
